The SMS Soccer Club is a fun, inclusive, and recreational club that brings students together through a shared love of soccer. Open to students of all skill levels, the club provides a welcoming environment where members can play friendly games, develop basic soccer skills, stay active, and build new friendships. Soccer Club focuses on participation, teamwork, sportsmanship, and enjoyment of the game. Whether students are experienced players or trying soccer for the first time, everyone is encouraged to join, have fun, and be part of a positive and supportive community.

Information: RPG (Role Playing Game) club - where adventure awaits! Participants will play games like Dungeons and Dragons, create their own characters, use unique skills, magic, and items, and adventure through mythical lands, mysterious town, and spooky dungeons - all with paper and pencil! Students in this club use imagination and teamwork to build stories following rules and guidelines provided in the Dungeons and Dragons system. 

Students brainstorm & research cutting edge ideas for their science fair projects.

A mentoring program for 6^th-8^th grade girls. It's a community partnership with Precious Me Inc, a Gwinnett based organization and meetings will be held Wednesdays after school.

VEX competitions foster skills and capitalize on the motivational effects of competitions and robotics to help all students create an identity as a STEM learner.  VEX competitions are also a great way to expose students to valuable soft skills like communication, collaboration, and time management in a fun and authentic way.

Vex Robotics

The Gwinnett Readers Rally is a quiz bowl-style competition for students in grades 4 through 12. Students read books from a selected list and compete by answering questions based on those titles. Each school in Gwinnett County may send one team of up to 10 students to represent them in the event. The Gwinnett County Readers Rally Competition is traditionally held on the third weekend in February each year. Click here for more information.

Information: Peer Leadership is a student organization that is offered to 8th grade students who are respectful, responsible, self-disciplined, and have the potential to be great student leaders. Peer Leaders members will act as school ambassadors and help with various tasks such as Parent/Teacher Conferences, Math/Language Arts nights, rising 5th graders, and guides for new students arriving to Sweetwater.

Students who are interested are provided with an application and turn in a recommendation from their teachers.

is a team-based academic competition where students demonstrate their knowledge across a wide range of subjects by answering challenging questions in a fast-paced, quiz-style format. It builds critical thinking, teamwork, confidence, and a love of learning while representing the school in interscholastic competition.

Tuesday/Thursday after school (permission slips will be given to students) 4:30 - 5:30pm

will teach students how to access critical thinking, form arguments, identify and verify sources used in debate. also develop public speaking skills, persuasive writing and communication (both of which are ELA standards). Students will also learn to build arguments with logic, analyze complex issues quickly, and actively listen to opposing viewpoints. Meetings will be held twice a week Tuesday/Thursday after school (permission slips will be given to students) 4:30 - 5:30pm with public school debate options being announced per admin approval.

The National Jr.Beta Club works to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service among elementary and middle school students. This club is inivte only, based upon current GPA and academic standings.

Georgia Technology Student Association (TSA) chapters prepare students to be successful inventors, designers, creative problem solvers, responsible citizens and leaders who will influence and build the future.

Information:

876th Sweetwater JLC Club

Is made up of JLC Cadets only. We do community service projects such as the following: We compete in (3) JLC Raiders Meets in the Fall, which has 8 different team events & 2 individual events for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place trophies/ medals. We march in 2 different parades: Veterans Day in Atlanta Area & MLK Day in Lawrenceville area and/ or cleaning projects. We also compete in 3 Drill Meets in the Spring, which has 5 team events and 2 individual events for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place trophies/ medals for team and individual events. The JLC Program conduct the Flag Detail for Sweetwater MS and conduct Color Guard Ceremonies for local school events, promotions, and home basketball games at Berkmar HS. Finally, we finish the year with a Summer JLC Leadership Camp of 3 to 4 days; after the school year is done.
